What happens during your appointment?
When you become peri-menopausal (the natural transition into the menopause) your hormones begin to change, and at this stage it may lead to abnormal vaginal bleeding and less frequent menstrual cycle.
At your initial consultation, your consultant will perform a thorough gynaecological examination accompanied by a smear test, pelvic ultrasound and a breast ultrasound. This is to help them identify gynaecological or breast abnormalities, if any.
Diagnostic tests
To help maintain your physical health, your consultant may request other examinations to rule out any irregularities. The menopausal women health check includes:
- Consultation
- Smear (HPV typing)
- Pelvic Ultrasound
- Breast Ultrasound
- Blood Tests (FSH + CA125 + HE4)

Your consultant will create and discuss a specific consensual treatment plan for you.
